Cybernet performed evaluations of existing personal position determination methods & technology; alternative portable mil spec radios; digital map data formats and display algorithms; and advanced personal ultra-portable computer/display technology. Evaluation results were used to prepare a prototype system using off-the-shelf GPS and laptop computer hardware, and preliminary software to track self and other location on DTED, Tiger, and Picture maps.
