There are several sources of video images that can be received by a Common Ground Station (CGS) type earth station: satellites, Unmanned Air Vehicles (UAVs), Tomahawk missiles, or helicopters at the receiving CGS terminal. These images have overlays of coordinates, radar bites, targets and enemy movements added. This project developed a next generation Distributed Digital Video Personal Communications System (DDVPCS) to service the Army’s requirements for managing this data in a field setting.
