This project developed a prototype low cost portable device that can diagnose traumatic brain injuries in operational environments (acute subdural hematoma, SDH). This is done by applying NIRS or Near Infrared Reflective Spectroscopy technology to this problem, leading in Phase I to a feasible prototype system and in Phase II to a proof of concept prototype instrument.
