Cybernet used its experimental operator control unit technology to track operator-machine performance during teleoperation of an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) in an experimental setting. Results of these experiments were used to pinpoint ways to increase telenavigation operator performance. Primary research was conducted to determine which video information is most important to operator driving, and, based on this insight, to determine which video compression and image processing hardware/software products are most likely to produce desirable operator performance results.
