Cybernet developed a prototype model-independent vehicle teleoperation retrofit kit and demonstrated this kit in teleoperation of a HMMWV. As part of the process, Cybernet reviewed many existing military vehicle types, prior vehicle-specific robotic conversion kits, and technology options relative to operator control stations, radio links, control systems, and sensors. Components of the kit include a man-portable robotic command center, standardized set of machine servo mechanisms, standard interfaces for on-machine sensors, standard machine health monitors, interfaces compatible with available data compression/communication devices, interfaces compatible with a machine location subsystem, and configurable interfaces for machine, operator, and control/sensor systems.
