Cybernet Systems Corporation has been awarded Rapid Innovation Fund contract by the Navy and USINDOPACOM titled “Leveraging Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to Supercharge Logistics.”

USINDOPACOM requires the capability to determine and assess current logistics situations and develop logistics forecasts that anticipate requirements up to and in excess of 30 days anywhere within the USINDOPACOM area of responsibility. While the current logistic systems and tools rely on external information to report various supply inventories, there is minimal forecasting available to anticipate potential supply chain issues, distribution shortfalls, and/or other unseen and unexpected logistical hurdles that can impede mission success.

Cybernet will leverage various artificial intelligence techniques, including Deep Learning, Expert Systems, and other machine learning techniques, along with team expertise on past, current, and future logistic concepts to develop an Intelligent Logistics Planning System (ILPS) that enhances the capability to anticipate potential supply chain issues, distribution shortfalls, and/or other unseen/unexpected logistic hurdles that might impede mission success.

“The military spends 90% of their time collecting data and only 10% of their time analyzing it. Our goal is to reverse those numbers, so that military experts can provide insight into current and near future logistics issues, backed up by artificial intelligent software agents,” said Charles J. Cohen, Cybernet’s Chief Technology Officer.

LMI is supporting this effort as a subcontractor to Cybernet. LMI is a consultancy dedicated to powering a future-ready, high-performing government, drawing from expertise in digital and analytic solutions, logistics, and management advisory services.
