Dr. Charles Cohen, chief technology officer for Cybernet Systems Corporation, will participate in a panel discussion during the Army Science and Technology Roundtable #1 in Washington, D.C., on July 11, 2023.
Sponsored by the Department of Defense and hosted by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the event will convene from July 11 to July 12.
The “Roundtable” series facilitates discussion in areas of interest to the military acquisition community. July’s event will feature multiple panels of government, academia and industry representatives, whose conversations will focus on military research and acquisition-related topics, such as expanding the industrial base by helping small businesses cross the defense acquisitions “valley of death,” among others.
Cohen will speak during the “SBIRs Participants Panel” that will focus on the concerns of small businesses with interests in the defense industry, with special emphasis on the Small Business Innovation Research program.
“I’m really looking forward to this discussion,” Cohen said. “Overall, the acquisition community is quite small, and we don’t get many opportunities to discuss our concerns with qualified peers or share best practices to get the right tools into the hands of the warfighter.”
In-person attendance to this event is by invitation only. Options for virtual attendance are to be determined.
