In this project, Cybernet implemented a its distributed flight simulator to train Navy pilots in the flight controls and systems of the T34 trainer and several other winged and rotor aircraft. The simulation supports multiple projection systems, distributed simulation (i.e. multiple aircraft within a unified simulation world), radio traffic, full instrument flight rules, and trainer-constructed scenarios that control events designed to achieve directed training goals. This simulation is DIS and HLA compliant on Windows and Windows NT personal computers. It can support immersive head-mounted displays. Both out of the window and cockpit instruments are fully three-dimensional. The simulator generates force feedback outputs for motion control and flight control interfaces.
